About WAPI

Women Agricultural Professionals of India (WAPI) has a key role in effective transfer of agricultural technologies to the farming community, especially the farm women. Their percentage inflow into the system as work force is on exponential rise – be it in agriculture, animal sciences or allied fields. This human resource can be effectively utilized to cater the needs of the farm women.

To be effective as agri-professionals, networking among the professional women in agricultural research, education and transfer of technology on one hand and NGOs, grass-root level social organizations working with farm women and stakeholders of agricultural technologies on the other is essential. This ultimately results in strengthening professional women – farmwomen interface.  A dynamic searchable database on WAPI is designed to serve the networking needs of women in the field of agriculture.
